The white Tailed deer

The White Tailed Deer

The Odocoileus Virginianus, more commonly known as the White Tailed Deer, is a herbivorous animal that is named after it’s unique undertail. The white section is revealed when they sense danger. Mothers utilize their tails by keeping it raised when they are running - this is so that their fawns  follow them.

White Tailed Deer are excellent jumpers and run incredibly fast which aids them in escaping from predators (they can run as fast 48 km per hour).

Female White Tailed Deer are called does and male deer are known as bucks.

Bucks have antelors that begin growing in Spring and shed during Winter, after mating season. The antelors' appearence is determined by the buck's genetics, nutrition and age.
